On 19.3.2010 the final ceremony of The Best teacher of English 2009 was held!

For their presence, we would like to thank :

Members of the evaluation committee were:


• Mgr. Michael Čaňková - LABEL Award winner, 2008

• Tereza Šmídová – Methodologist of English at  the Pedagogical Research Institute

• Dagmar Csatová - English teacher  from a primary school in North Moravia

 

The  winners of  The best English teacher award in 2009 are:

PhDr. Maria Vučková, who has been teaching at the elementary school Náměstí Curierových in  Prague 1 for more than 9 years. She teaches preschool and first grade students. She was nominated by Mgr. Wolf – School Principal
She was nominated because of
• Long-term excellence among educators

• Children are eager for her empathetic approach and interestingly -led lessons

• Thanks to her , the school is sought out by a number of parents

The evaluation committee acknowledged that she creates her own teaching materials and objects on the SMART Board and introduces elements of CLIL in her teaching style. The children are not afraid to speak, and her teaching style is creative and innovative.

Mgr. Eva Munchova -  The Elementary School Okružní, Most

She was nominated by Mgr. Jana Kropáčková – the school principa..

• she has been teaching for more than 10 years

• Although it is an housing estate kind of school, pupils' knowledge of English is excellent, and they place in the top levels  in language competitions

• She is engaged in the nationwide project e-Twinning Marathon

The evaluation committee appreciated  that she can strongly motivate even weaker students, and she works with the CLIL method and has great results.

Mgr. Jan Šulcová – from a private secondary school for marketing and business economics in Most

Was nominated by the school director.

•  she makes colorful English lessons using a PC and  interactive whiteboard

•  she can motivate students and get the best from them

• she was involved in the project with Business Games where students visited Malta

 Members of the selection committee praised her innovation, "highly effective teaching style“, knowledge of metodology and motivation.

PaeDr. Miluška Karásková – from the elementary school, Třída SNP, Hradec Kralove

• she is  a co-author of the Czech version of the ELP for children  under 11

- she uses modern methods of work and achieves above average results

• she has co-authored  a textbook with Click Start for 3rd-5th grade

• Her work in the field of English teaching has lasted 20 years

• Uses CLIL method

Dr. Eva Poláková – from the Secondary School of Mechanical and Electronic  Engineering, Liberec

She was nominated by Ing. Josef Šorm- the school director.

•  she co-organizes the School Olympic Games in English

•  she is the "head of department" of English

•  she uses all available information technology - an interactive whiteboard and Turning Point

 - she treats students democratically

• she does not avoid professional texts in electronics and computer technology

•  she can motivate students,  knows the methodology of teaching

Mgr. Kamila Rejzková – from the elementary school Morávkova, Vyškov

 she was nominated by Mgr. Jana Prášilová  - the school principal

• she makes lessons more fun with a magic puppet, includes teaching mime, tongue twisters, songs, rhymes

• she communicates a lot with her students, her lessons are lively

• she uses self produced materials and worksheets, and chanting

• she has a hearing impaired girl in her class, which requires extra effort

Mgr. Zdenka Uhrová – from the elementary school, Marianske nam. 41, Uherske Brod,

she was nominated by Mgr. Jitka Hudečková

• she uses new teaching methods and focuses her time on other activities - school club projects with partners in Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, and prepares a school project on Europe Day

she emphasises conversation with the aim of:  „Being able to talk to a stranger and not being afraid to speak .“

° Students love her English lessons

• she initiates a penpal project with  students  from Norway and Slovenia

The selection committee commended the use of modern methods of instruction  and using CLIL. Zdenka is an experienced teacher who knows what she is doing and especially why.
