Stone Circle

In January 2000, Stone Circle was launched. With the kind support of the Canada Fund of the Canadian Embassy in the Czech Republic, we developed a series of lesson plans that are distributed to over 80 schools across the Czech Republic.

The goals of the Stone Circle program are to raise awareness of environmental issues, provide teachers with the tools to teach students to think critically about environmental issues, to encourage the use of scientific observation and analysis when addressing environmental issues and to give Czech students a local perspective upon the environmental issues that face them today and tomorrow.

In the school year 2004/2005 we decided to widen the program to focus on the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic to balance the business character of our other program, Newspapers in Education. Stone Circle lesson plans are published monthly and provide information about charity issues,human rights, environmental and multicultural issues and community project activities.
